Black Girl Sunscreen Review

Black Girl Sunscreen $18.99 https://blackgirlsunscreen.com/product/black-girl-sunscreen-spf-30/
We know that sunscreen is something we all should be using daily right? If you are a woman of color that can be a daunting task since most sunscreen is quite WHITE and can leave a grayish, white cast on the skin. Not to mention most sunscreen is very thick and hard to rub into the skin, try putting that on your face under makeup; that white grayish cast affects the color of your foundation and even how it blends into the skin. I have to be very careful about what sunscreen I apply to my face since I have acne prone skin and a lot of sunscreens have been known to clog my pores and cause breakouts.
I have seen ads all over Instagram for this Black Girl Sunscreen some of the influencers I follow have raved about it and I wanted to give it a try but I wanted to wait until I had almost used up my current favorite sunscreen $25 for 1.7 ounces I only use it on my face it’s fast absorbing and it has a matte finish without the white cast. Black Girl Sunscreen had some stiff competition I have tried so many and my current one was working just fine.
I ordered the BGS from their website there was a promo code 20% off your first order, the shipping was really fast about 3 days. BGS is paraben free and doesn’t contain oxybenzone which is considered one of the most toxic ingredients found in cosmetic products. The product has a broad spectrum SPF 30, it has no scent (who else hates the way sunscreen smells). The texture is light almost like a lightweight moisturizer that blends into the skin easily without a cast or a greasy residue. I use the product on my face and body. I put it to the test while on vacation in Charleston we were outside every day we were there; Michael and I used the sunscreen exclusively to test it out. We both loved it! I was worried that it may cause breakouts but it hasn’t, it doesn’t cause any issues under my makeup and it was easy to reapply without becoming sticky or tacky. The price point is more than fair $18.99 for 3 ounces, there are lots of nourishing ingredients for the skin like; Jojoba oil, carrot seed oil, shea butter, and almond oil. This is a solid product! You know the term “black don’t crack” well, that’s true if you take care of your skin from the inside out including the use of sunscreen daily to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun which include premature wrinkles, age spots and more importantly skin cancer. I highly recommend trying the BGS I think you will love it!
Do you use sunscreen? Which is your favorite for your body and face?
